Marino TimperiConsultant
Mario has over 60 years experience in the building and stonemasonry industry. Prior to arriving in Australia, Mario, at the age of 14, was apprentice to his father, a qualified second generation stonemason. In Italy full exteriors of homes constructed in stone are extremely popular, as are feature walls, retaining walls and fireplaces in various stone types and textures. More than 50% of mountain chalets are built in stone. Mario carried out such works as well as conducting restoration and maintenance of prestige buildings, monuments including “The Vatican City” on 110 acres of prime land in Rome close to Tiber River and Castle St Angelo.

In the early 1950s upon arrival in Australia, the Snowy Mountains Authorities at Cooma commissioned Mario, for major building, bridge and associated works. Following the success of the Snowy Mountains Authorities Project, Mario continued to establish his expertise in Australia and passed on his knowledge to his sons, Rick and Tyron.

Mario’s experience is of great value and is called upon from time to time to consult on projects due to his great depth of knowledge.
